Itinerary

Day 1: Foum Zguid – Erg El Mhazil

• Departure: Begin the journey in a 4×4 from Foum Zguid.
• Iriki National Park: Cross rocky plains and ever-changing landscapes, stopping at a scenic oasis near plateau-shaped mountains, including the striking “tajine” mountain. Watch for herds of camels at water wells.
• Arrival at Camp:
  • Enjoy a warm welcome with refreshing tea.
  • Climb the large dune for a sunset view over the sea of dunes and distant Djebel Bani mountains.
• Evening:
  • Relish a traditional Moroccan dinner prepared by the camp chef.
  • Gather around the campfire under the brilliant starry sky before settling in for a peaceful night in comfortable tents.

Day 2: Erg El Mhazil

• Morning:
  • Witness the sunrise over the dunes and enjoy a traditional breakfast.
  • Take a camel caravan walk, exploring the flora and fauna of the desert. Stop for a picnic lunch amidst the dunes.
• Afternoon:
  • Relax at the bivouac, take a leisurely stroll, or simply unwind in the serenity of the desert.
• Evening:
  • Enjoy a musical gathering by the campfire, a cherished nomadic tradition.
  • Sleep under the stars or in your tent, savoring the tranquility of the desert night.

Day 3: Erg El Mhazil – Foum Zguid

• Morning:
  • After breakfast, return to Foum Zguid by 4×4.
  • Stop at a fossil site, showcasing remnants from prehistoric times.
  • Cross the vast, dried-up plains of Lake Iriki, capturing the wild beauty of the desert before reaching Foum Zguid.
